A good old commercial featuring Gordie Howe...now you have to sit through another crappy Exxon commercial first then the good one. I remember all of these Natural Light commercial.

Springfield Rocks!
Three pics from our Saturday trip to Springfield IL to visit the President Lincoln sites: the only home he owned, the Lincoln Family tomb and his Presidential Library
it was a great trip and we also made a stop by Charlie Parker's for lunch. It was profiled on "Diner, Dives & Drive Ins" on the Food Network. It was a good time.
Go Here to see a great story on the Lincoln tomb: http://members.aol.com/RVSNorton/Lincoln13.html
Talk about a hit!
this is what happens when you skate with the puck and your head down. Legal all the way.

Talking about great soul singers
here is one of Al Wilson's great contemporaries with probably the best anti war song of the 1970s
Al Wilson R.I.P
A great 70s soul singer as left us. Al Wilson who had "THE" hit of 1974 with "Show and Tell", died on Monday of kidney failure according to his son. He was 68.
Here he is singing his song in all its classic soul glory.

2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs
From ESPN.com
Pittsburgh 3, Ottawa 1
So far this year the playoffs have been a treat to watch with my team the Pittsburgh Pengiuns running roughshod over the Ottawa Senators, but I hope they dont crash and burn in the next round after being so successful in the opening round.
Tonight on the Versus coverage (not as bad as it was last year, but still not great) you will see:
NJ Devils vs NY Rangers game 4
and
Detroit Redwings vs Nashville Predators game 4
For What's My Line? fans
thanks to the great site Newsfromme.com I found this clip of "What's My Line?" host John Daly interviewing Harpo Marx on the Today Show in 1961, enjoy.

I've Got a Secret
This is a funny and sometimes sad book about a funny gentleman, Henry Morgan from "I've Got a Secret". He could be rude and cutting but also very very funny. He is truly an aquired taste.
he of course was on one of my very favorite games shows "I've Got a Secret" with Garry Moore...not the most recent failure that was thankfully discarded by GSN, but the classic B&W version.
Here from 1984 is Garry Moore looking back at the show its about 10 mins long but worth watching.
I have been recording the episodes every night on GSN along with "What's My Line?" my very favorite game show. I LOVE this show.
here is the final episode with host John Daly as the mystery guest:
John was always the emergency back up myster guest in case the scheduled one didnt make it in time for the show, but on the last one they thought it was appropriate that he actually be the special guest.
In Honor
New book
I just recieved my new book from what was Zooba but is now BOMC2...which I dont care about but its a great club..one book a month for 9.95.
this month I got "Gerald Ford" in the American Presidents series..I have ones of U.S. Grant, Grover Cleveland, Calvin Coolidge, Warren Harding and Rutherford B Hayes. What a great series, I highly recommend it for those who enjoy these types of books. I recommend the book club for anyone who loves to read.
