Classic NASCAR

I am starting something new for the blog with Classic NASCAR.  Thanks to the great people who post these races on Youtube I can bring some of the best races in auto racing history.  You will get to see the legends of NASCAR doing what made them famous, winning!

1989 MLB All Star Game MVP

Bo Jackson of the Kansas City Royals, winner of the 1989 Major League Baseball All Star Game MVP Award.  Bo led off the bottom of the 1st with a monstrous home run to dead center field of Anaheim Stadium.

1989 Kentucky Derby

With the Kentucky Derby coming up this weekend May 4th, I want to look back at classic Derby races.

1989
The headline going in was Easy Goer being the favorite.  The reigning 2 Year old horse of the year is going to face Sunday Silence.  This was the beginning of a rivalry that saw Sunday Silence become 3 Year old horse of the  Year by winning the Derby and the Preakness (both times Easy Goer was runnerup) and runnerup to Easy Goer in the Belmont by 8 lengths.

Here is the upset as Sunday Silence puts away the field in the 115th running of the Kentucky Derby, May 6th 1989.
