2019 Preakness Stakes

Pimlico Race Track
Baltimore MD
May 18th 2019

With neither the Kentucky Derby declared winner Country House and race winner Maximum Security choosing to not run in the 144th Preakness it seemed to be a dull follow up to the great Derby, however things are not as they seem.   It a strange action, longshot BodExpress lunged out of the gate at the start and threw his jockey John Valasquez and proceeded to run the entire race with the pack and finish without his jockey.  Thus, turning this into a must watch race and almost becoming the story over Preakness winner War of Will

2019 Kentucky Derby

The 2019 Kentucky Derby will go down in history as the most controversial ever and many people still don't understand what happened.   This observer still thinks it was a bad deal for the assumed winner "Maximum Security" but he did interfere with other horses, even it proved to be a non-factor in the end.  Now we have "Country House" as the winner of the 145th run for the roses, the 2nd biggest longshot to "win" the race, move 2009 winner "Mine That Bird" down as the 3rd biggest longshot.
