Eisenhower Birthplace

Well we continued our tradition of visiting Presidential homes and libraries on our vacations.
Today our travels took us to Denison TX, the birthplace of President Dwight D Eisenhower.
Although the family moved away when the future General and President was a year and a half old, they were able to save the home where he was born in 1890.
Not really that impressive as Denison is a very poor town these days and they really dont seem to capitalize on this like a West Branch Iowa, but in fairness the main museum and library of President Eisenhower in in Abilene Kansas.
Overall a great experience and that mean Abilene is now on the agenda in the future.
Here are photos of the home and grounds including the statue by Robert Lee Dean.

The Front bedroom where Pres Eisenhower was born. No original Eisenhower family belongings are in the home. It as furniture from the time of his birth in 1890.
