Dean Martin and Johnny Carson

I found a couple of really fun clips of Dean Martin on the Tonight Show in the 1970s.  The first is from 1973 and the second is from 1977.  We see the well cultivated act of Dean the drunk and confused, but he was neither and still was brilliant at what he did, entertain.  These clips also show just how fast Johnny Carson was with his ad libs and when to sit back and enjoy the show himself.

Thanks to Buck Benny and his Jack Benny podcast.  Please check it out for some great old time radio shows like Jack Benny, Fred Allen, Phil Harris, Suspense, Jimmy Durante, Escape and Gunsmoke.  He also has some great surprises each week.

Happy Birthday to "The Great One"

and I dont mean Wayne Gretzky!
Today would have been the 94th birthday for Jackie Gleason. Known as the Great One he was a pioneer in tv comedy and left us with some of the greatest comedy moments in television history.
Baby You're the Greatest!

How sweet it was.
Jackie Gleason's only appearance on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson from 1985.
I remember watching this and I had just discovered the Honeymooners on TV and this was such a treat to watch.
