John Anderson was honored by the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and presented with a Western Heritage Award in 1967 for his years of work in television and movie westerns.
The long fight scene filmed for this episode was used by the U.S.C Film School as well as other film schools in the US to train student film editors.

We continue our journey through season 3 (1957-58) of Gunsmoke on television.   This was the first of 4 straight season as the #1 show in primetime.  Gunsmoke would hold that record until 1975-76 when All In the Family made it 5 straight seasons as #1.
